Processing…

Much to ponder…

Holy Week moments…

High levels of functioning for days on end with very little sleep…

Light hearted footwashing and dinner as a family…

Solemn Eucharist and stripping the sanctuary…

Cleaning the altar alone in the dim light while the congregation watches in silence…

Incense and votive candles and arguing with God (or maybe at God) at 3 AM…

Desolation at sunrise…

A bell tolling…

Please don’t let it rain, and contingency plans, then a red sunset and clearing skies and stations in the woods lit by torches…

Cleaning and straightening and polishing…

Processions and a Paschal Candle and walking a labyrinth lit by candles…

Guitar music filtering through the trees…

Hymns and chants and a solo…

A boisterous children’s sermon and egg hunt…

Crying through the post-Communion prayer…

Good byes and thank yous and hugs and tears and when you need us pick up the phone silly…

And gifts, actual physical gifts tied with a bow…

A gift that says what words cannot…

Realization that I’ve begun growing into who I am supposed to be…

I’ll be processing for a while.

One Response to “Processing…”

  1. Ah, and how blessed are those who have stood in the light of your journey.
